Article 4: Reasons for This Infinite Value

 

This death is of such great value and worth for the reason that the person who suffered it is--as was necessary to be our Savior--not only a true and perfectly holy man, but also the only begotten Son of God, of the same eternal and infinite essence with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Another reason is that this death was accompanied by the experience of God's anger and curse, which we by our sins had fully deserved.

 

제 4 항 이렇게 무한한 가치가 있는 이유들

 

이 죽음이 그렇게 위대한 가치와 존엄이 있는 이유는, 그 죽음을 겪으신 그 분께서 참되고 완전하게 거룩하신 인간이실 뿐만 아니라, 성부, 성령과 함께 동일한, 영원하고 무한한 본질을 성부, 성령과 함께 가지신 독생하신 하나님의 아들이시기 때문이다. 이 두가지 모두가 우리의 구원자가 되시기 위해서 필요했었다. 또 다른 이유로는, 이 죽음이 하나님의 진노와 저주의 경험을 수반하게 되는데, 우리들의 죄로 인해서 우리들은 그 진노와 저주에 합당한 자들이다.
